Huntsville Newborn Photographer | Sweet Eleanor

I am a mother of four children so I feel like I KNOW babies to a certain degree. I do not expect newborns to be calm and asleep during their entire newborn session. It’s nearly impossible. I am wrapping them, unwrapping them, changing their hands, messing with their head and flashing a light at them. I don’t expect them to sleep through the entire thing. This sweet girl did just that!

During my newborn sessions I break up the session into what I think of two smaller sessions, a lifestyle newborn session where I get the family around the home and then I bring in a newborn beanbag for individual portraits of the newborn. I bring in white blankets, wraps, headbands and soft little pjs for my clients to use. This is my favorite part of every session and the images that the clients swoon for. Below is a snippet of sweet Eleanor’s individual portion I will share the lifestyle portion soon so stay tuned for that.

Isn’t she just darling?! I just love this family and so happy that they’re a part of my milestone program! I will photograph this sweet girl in 6 months for her sitter session. You can be sure I’ll post that on here you just wait!

Sara Catherine Turns One (Huntsville Child and Milestone Photographer)

This child has always had the best smile. From my first session with her as a newborn to her final one in her milestone session, that smile has been ever present. I met her parents and beloved big brother for Sara Catherine’s first of her series of milestone sessions.

A milestone session is when the client chooses a series of sessions during that first year of their child’s life. Typically, it includes the maternity session, newborn session, sitter (6 months) session and a first birthday session. I love milestones because I build the relationship with the family, which makes everyone comfortable with me and produces incredible images. With younger children there is minimal warming up time because we have met before and they know what to expect. The parents get to have professional portraits of the child and the family in all of those incredible milestones during that first year. Okay let me run through it and then we will get to her first birthday session.

Onto the bittersweet session, first birthday. While I love the sessions I also get a little sad after the first birthday sessions. I love these families and these children. I know it may be awhile before I photograph them again and it makes me a little sad. That is until I look at the images from the session and I smile once again.

Sweet Ava | Huntsville Newborn Photographer

I have been doing in-home newborn sessions for years now. Every single time the client will say, “I am so glad that you came in to our home to do this. I can’t imagine going to a studio to have this done.” Every. Single. Time. I bring just about everything you need for a newborn session to you so you don’t have to leave the house. I do what I can I can in order to make you, postpartum mom, comfortable. As a result, the siblings are comfortable because Mom is relaxed and they’re home. They can watch play or dad hang out while I take the baby’s portraits then they come back when it’s family time. Easy peasy! Newborn Photographer Huntsville Alabama

I could write a book on this family. It was just one of those sessions from the time I crossed their threshold to the last item was loaded up, I felt like I had been with friends. They were so easy going and their boys were so proud of their new baby sister and extremely well behaved. Turner Turns One | Huntsville Milestone Children’s Photographer

Turner was a part of my milestone program from it’s conception. I can’t believe he’s already turning one. Where did the time go? It seems like just a few months ago we photographed him during his outdoor newborn session.

During my milestone sessions, which you can read about here, clients will book in sessions during the first year. It’s such a sweet time because we get to watch them grow over that first year and really get to know the families. However, at the first birthday sessions we have SO much fun, but in all honesty, I get a little sad because I know that I won’t see them as much. Why do children have to grow up so fast?!

Turner’s family decided not to do a cake smash, but do a donut smash! His mom brought the cutest props and we laughed so much watching him try to figure it all out. He ended up knocking over the donut stand, but we loved that part the most.

Libba is a part of my milestone program. When my clients are a part of this program, they get a certain amount of sessions during the first year of their baby’s life. It can include sessions before they’re born (maternity, fresh 48) too. Each session comes with a multiple session discount. I love milestone sessions because I really get to know the family during these sessions and they’re really comfortable in front of my camera and with me.

That first year y’all, it goes by so quickly. I saw her name on my calendar and thought no way it’s been six months already. Between 6-7 months as a part of the milestone program, we schedule what I call a sitter session. The child is sitting up unattended, but not quite yet crawling. They’re happy, they’re madly in love with the parents- especially dad- and the most fun!
