Sweet baby Greer’s session melted my heart! It was seriously the most fun! Their dog, Oakley, was stuck to my side, and he even used my newborn poser bean bag as a pillow, while he napped waiting for his big moment on camera. Not only do I love photographing such sweet little newborns (along with their first best fur friends), but I love documenting all the sweet nursery details and precious heirloom dresses, too. I love when clients choose to incorporate those very special sentimental items that have been passed down generation after generation. There is no doubt that these items are of great significance and deserve to be memorialized through pictures, too. There is something so special about seeing your child wearing an item of clothing that you or another family member wore as a baby. It is for sure a full circle moment. I read something once about how grandparents and parents pour so much love into us, and, then we can in turn, pass this love down to our children. This kind of love is everlasting. This gorgeous yellow heirloom dress pictured towards the end of the blog post belonged to her grandmother. It may look like only a dress, but it is actually a part of her legacy. And the pictures captured during your session are not just pictures, but your virtual legacy to be passed down through the generations. That first year of life, your baby will grow and change so much! Each phase is so unique and fun, and, with my milestone session package, I will capture each unique stage to memorialize this very sweet although very short time of life for you. 

Did you know that the milestone package is customizable? Greer’s parents opted not to do the maternity session that normally comes with the milestone package instead choosing to do only the first year – newborn, sitter, and first birthday. Other times, a Fresh 48 session may be what you are looking for instead of the in-home newborn session. We can tailor the newborn milestone package to fit what you are looking to capture of your baby’s first year of life.
