The Vickerson Family | Huntsville Milestone Photographer

One of my favorite aspects of being a photographer is meeting so many sweet families and getting to photograph those families’ little ones again as they grow up through the years. It is always so fun to see their cute little personalities shine and to document the different stages of their life. I was so happy when the Vickerson family contacted me to have some new family portraits created. Several years ago, I created newborn portraits for their oldest son, Shep, and then again for his little brother, Tripp. As we are in the middle of this season of gratitude, I cannot say it enough how GRATEFUL and HONORED I am that this family chose me to capture these very important memories for them. These little boys are the sweetest, and their session was so fun! I loved getting to see this adorable family again and to update their family portraits!

The boys’ newborn sessions were also so adorable that I decided to include a few images from both Shep’s newborn session and Tripp’s newborn session below to show how much they have grown. Also, if you appreciate stunning interior design like I do, then you will want to be sure to check out these images to see their nurseries. Both boys had the most gorgeous, quintessentially Southern nurseries that were like something out of magazine – very classic and timeless. During every newborn session, I also capture all the important little details that have been curated into making the nursery a home for your little one during those early months.

Meet Baby Merritt | Harvest Alabama and Huntsville Area Newborn Photographer

Adorable baby Merritt has the sweetest, super doting older siblings ever! I never get over how fortunate I am to be able to capture these special moments for my clients as they welcome a new baby into their family. The days ahead will be full of change, growth, and magical moments. I am looking forward to seeing this sweet baby again at Merritt’s first year session.

They are only this little for a little while…truer words have never been spoken. Babies grow and change so quickly during that first month that unlike many other things in life, newborn photos do have a limited time frame in which to capture.

One of the most asked questions I get is when is the best time to have newborn photos taken?

To have the sleepy, curled up cozy baby images, it is ideal to have your baby’s newborn photos taken within the first fourteen days after birth. Of course, it is possible to still get amazing newborn images after fourteen days (it is really never too late within that first month), but, the earlier the better to capture those beginning days. By booking in for your newborn session early on, you are ensuring that your newborn has a spot on my schedule around your due date. Also, if you are interested in documenting the major milestones during your baby’s first year, the milestone package might be right for you. Typically, this package would consist of maternity, newborn, sitter (6 months) and one year photos but is customizable to fit your needs. If you are expecting, let’s talk! Welcome Baby William | Huntsville Newborn Photographer

It was a delight to photograph adorable baby William during his newborn lifestyle session in his home with his sweet parents! The cutest baby and check out the last photo at the end with his fur buddies. So precious!

Lifestyle newborn sessions allow you to document this wonderful time in your life with a studio feel from the comfort of your home. These images can transport you back to how it felt to walk down your hallway holding your newborn baby safely in your arms, how it felt to sit and rock your sweet child in the nursery you spent months and months decorating and curating, or how it felt to bond with the sweet baby that you dreamt about for months. Usually, the milestone package will include a maternity session, newborn, sitter, and year old session, but it can be customized to fit your needs.

Sweet Greer | Hampton Cove Newborn Photographer

Sweet baby Greer’s session melted my heart! It was seriously the most fun! Their dog, Oakley, was stuck to my side, and he even used my newborn poser bean bag as a pillow, while he napped waiting for his big moment on camera. Not only do I love photographing such sweet little newborns (along with their first best fur friends), but I love documenting all the sweet nursery details and precious heirloom dresses, too. I love when clients choose to incorporate those very special sentimental items that have been passed down generation after generation. There is no doubt that these items are of great significance and deserve to be memorialized through pictures, too. There is something so special about seeing your child wearing an item of clothing that you or another family member wore as a baby. It is for sure a full circle moment. I read something once about how grandparents and parents pour so much love into us, and, then we can in turn, pass this love down to our children. This kind of love is everlasting. This gorgeous yellow heirloom dress pictured towards the end of the blog post belonged to her grandmother. It may look like only a dress, but it is actually a part of her legacy. And the pictures captured during your session are not just pictures, but your virtual legacy to be passed down through the generations. That first year of life, your baby will grow and change so much! Each phase is so unique and fun, and, with my milestone session package, I will capture each unique stage to memorialize this very sweet although very short time of life for you.

Did you know that the milestone package is customizable? Greer’s parents opted not to do the maternity session that normally comes with the milestone package instead choosing to do only the first year – newborn, sitter, and first birthday. Other times, a Fresh 48 session may be what you are looking for instead of the in-home newborn session. We can tailor the newborn milestone package to fit what you are looking to capture of your baby’s first year of life.
